Obituary of Carolyn Smith
Carolyn “Pinky” Smith passed away in Florida on February 23, 2024.
Born in Plainfield, NJ to the late John Lucckas and Marie Catignola, She grew up in South Plainfield, was a graduate of South Plainfield High School and in the early 90’s, moved to Gulf Port, FL before settling St. Petersburg, FL.
Known as “Pinky”, she worked at Comcast in the 80’s and then Revlon in Edison for a short time, but devoted most of her time caring for her family as a homemaker and as a supportive mother and grandmother. Pinky attended all their activities and sporting events. In her younger years, she enjoyed softball and bowling various leagues throughout the area.
Predeceased by her sister Marie Ventrillo, Pinky leaves behind her children; Denise Stark, Joseph Smith and his wife Sharon and John Smith and his wife Melissa. Six grandchildren; Gary Stark, Vincent Stark, Emily Smith, Jake smith, Cooper Smith and Holly Smith and two great-grandsons; John Teed and Oliver Stark. She will be missed by her two brothers; John Lucckas and his wife Debbie and Robert Lucckas.
Pinky’s cremated remains will be laid to rest at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in South Plainfield.
