Obituary of Marianne Kovacs

Piscataway – Marianne Kovacs, 84, passed away in her sleep at home on Monday, October 28, 2024.  Born and raised in New Brunswick to the late William and Mary (Kearns) Farkas, Marianne settled to Piscataway with her husband Bruce in 1966, where they raised their daughters in the Lake Nelson section of town.

In her younger years, Marianne worked for Triangle Cable Company in New Brunswick and as an aide with Piscataway Townships Bus Co.   She finished her career in the tax office of Piscataway Township where she retired in 2003.

Marianne belonged to Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, was a member of North Stelton Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and the Danish Sisterhood of America – 36 Freja Lodge.  She had a love for camping, cooking and candy making and could often be found at the casino’s but above all things; Marianne enjoyed spending time with her family.

She leaves behind her husband Bruce and their two daughters; Suzanne Kovacs and Christine Eldridge (Robert,) four grandchildren; Heather Franc (Alex,) Tyler Calderone (Alison,) and Nick and Rachel Eldridge as well as her great-granddaughter Ava Grace Franc.  Marianne is also survived by her sister-in-law, three nephews and several cousins.

Visitation will be held at Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854 on Sunday, November 3, 2024 from 2pm until 6pm and on Monday, November 4, 2024 beginning 9:30am.

Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Monday, November 4, 2024 at 10:00am followed by a 10:30am funeral mass at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church in Piscataway.  Mausoleum entombment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.
