Obituary of Vera Mae Koprowski
Vera Mae Koprowski, 89, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 1, 2024, at her home in Piscataway, NJ.
Born in Moosic, PA to the late Vera Mae and Floyd Stull, Vera was one of ten children. Moving to Middlesex, NJ from Moosic in 1960 with her late husband Edward Manalas, the two settled in Piscataway, NJ in 1965, where they raised their family. Vera has been a longtime resident since.
Following the passing of her first husband, Edward, in 1969, Vera began working full time at Halls Motor Transit in South Plainfield. In 1985 she left Halls and transitioned to Royal Apex in Plainfield where she worked in the accounts payable department. She retired in 1995.
Outside of work, Vera was a woman of faith and a very active member of the United Methodist Church of Bound Brook for over 60 years. Here she volunteered for various church activities, including serving mid-week meals for many years, and holding the position of Treasurer for the United Methodist Women. She also enjoyed crafts, ceramics, and gardening. Above all else, she cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren.
Vera is predeceased by her first husband, Edward Manalas, Sr. who passed away in 1969; second husband, Stephen Koprowski who passed away in 2003; son, Edward Manalas, Jr. who passed away in 2019; brothers, Charles, Jack, Arthur, and Floyd (Nick); and sisters, Sally Barnes and Betty Jane Neiper.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Dorothy (Michael) Hettmann, Catherine (Ken) Wolpin, and James (Eileen) Manalas; and grandchildren, Danielle, Katelyn, Michelle, Zachary, and Connor. She is also survived by her sister Dorothy (William) Pagnotti; brothers William and Willard Stull; and many nieces and nephews, as well as a host of extended relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ, on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, from 4 PM to 7 PM.
Funeral services will be held at the United Methodist Church of Bound Brook, 150 W Union Ave, Bound Brook, NJ, on Thursday, November 7, 2024, beginning at 10 AM.
Following the funeral services, burial will take place at the family plot in Resurrection Burial Park, 899 E. Lincoln Avenue, Piscataway, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bound Brook United Methodist Church, in Vera’s name.
