Obituary of Rosemary Rinker
Rosemary Rinker, 83, of South Plainfield, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024, in the comfort of her family. She was born on March 22, 1941 in Newark, NJ to Frances and Jack Montino.
Rosemary graduated from South Plainfield High School and then became a secretary in the SPHS Guidance Department for over 35 years until her retirement. She was beloved by students and faculty and was known for her compassion, kindness, and patience. She was always so appreciative of anyone who helped her along the way and gave back in any way she could.
Rosemary enjoyed knitting and crocheting and spent a good deal of her time making hats and scarves for local charities. She was accomplished in needle work. Her family will always treasure the art she created. She was an avid reader; you could always find a James Patterson novel at her side.
Her family will miss her smile, positive attitude and unconditional love. She was the light of their lives. She is predeceased by her husband Lewis Rinker and her sister Frances Mastrobattista. She is survived by her niece Diane (Tim) Eagle, her niece, Janis Mastrobattista and her nephew, Michael Mastrobattista; her great nephews Brendan Eagle, Bryan Eagle and Myles Mastrobattista.
Family and friends may gather on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080 from 4PM – 7PM.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 10:45AM in the funeral home, gathering prior to services will begin at 10AM.
Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.
