Obituary of Mary Ann Ronzo
Mary Ann Ronzo, 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 29, 2024 at JFK Medical Center in Edison with her family at her side after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, Mary Ann relocated to Plainfield in 1954 for a short time prior to residing in Scotch Plains and North Plainfield. In 1968, shortly after marrying her husband of 59 years, Lou Ronzo, Mary Ann settled to South Plainfield where she has resided for over 55 years.
A devoted communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Mary Ann was a member of the Sacred Heart Rosary Altar Society, a Eucharistic Minister and member of the Columbiettes. She also worked for the Parish as Cemetery Manager of Holy Redeemer and served the parish faithfully in various volunteer roles for many years.
Mary Ann enjoyed spending time with family, friends and her furry grand-puppies as well as trips to the beach, cooking and baking.
She is predeceased by her parents, Jerry and Philomena Izzo and her brother in law, Stuart Chalkley.
Surviving is her dear husband, Lou, daughter Jenn and sister, Geraldine Chalkley. Also surviving are several extended family members and many friends.
Family and friends are invited to join together for visitation on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 from 4-7 pm in the McCriskin- Gustafson Home for Funerals 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080
A 10:00am Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Sacred Heart Church, 149 South Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Those wishing to join together before mass may do so at 9 am in the funeral home.
Entombment will follow mass in Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway, NJ.
