South Plainfield - Mary E. Ridilla, 96, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the Woodlands Nursing Home in Plainfield.
Born and raised in Newark, Mary was the last surviving child of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Lebzelter. She lived in the Vailsburg section of Newark prior to moving to Garwood and Chatham, before settling in South Plainfield with her daughter in 2006.
As a young women, Mary lost her husband suddenly at the age of 44. She had resided with her mother and father in law, Anne and Stephen Ridilla, where she built a special bond with them and her two small children that had lasted a lifetime.
Mary had worked hard in the assembly department of Westinghouse in Bloomfield before being retiring at the age of 59.
Mary's love and devotion to her children and in-laws will never be forgotten.
She is predeceased by her husband, John, her five siblings, Katie, Barbra, Elizabeth, Paul and Joe. Her dear and beloved in laws, Anna and Stephen Ridilla and sisters in law, Emma and Helen; brother in law, Howard and childhood friend and sister in law, Ethel McMahon.
She is survived by her daughter, Arleen Taylor; son, Stephen and his wife, Linda, and three granddaughters, Mary Taylor, Jill Taylor and Stephanie Ridilla
Funeral services will begin on Tuesday February 20, 2018 at 8:30AM in the McCriskin Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080, followed by a funeral mass in Our Lady of Czestochowa at 9:30AM.
Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
Family and friends may attend the visitation hours on Monday from 5-8PM in the funeral home.
