Dunellen - Mary Olekson, 60, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Hackensack Meridian Health Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin.
Born in New York City, Mary resided in Piscataway and Dunellen for the majority of her life before settling to Lanoka Harbor 8 years ago.
A kind and gentle person, Mary was quick to help others and volunteer with different organizations. She was a fan of the New York Yankees, especially number 2, Derick Jeter and the New York Giants. Mary enjoyed bowling and collecting angels.
Predeceased by her parents, Milton and Mary (Butz) Olekson and brother, Gregory; surviving are her siblings, Sarafyna Schulz and husband Pete, Milton Jr. and wife Sharon, John and wife Vicki, George and wife Linda and Pauline and husband Robert.
She will also be missed by her nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 11AM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
Burial will be in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ.
Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Monday, May 14, 2018 from 6-9PM.
Memorial donations may be made in Mary's memory to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org or to AMIB Group Home c/o 15 Emerald Court, Lanoka Harbor NJ 08734.
