Margaret D. Serago
South Plainfield - Margaret (Caputo) Serago, 82, died on Thursday, March 19, 2009 in the Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison.
Born and raised in Elizabeth, Marge resided in the city for 58 years before settling in South Plainfield in 1984.
A communicant of Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield, Marge was a member of their Altar Rosary Society.
Mrs. Serago worked as an Administrative Assistant with the American Cancer Society in Elizabeth for 20 years.. She was a longtime member of the Red Hat Society and as well as a longtime volunteer at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield.
She is pre-deceased by her husband the late Lieutenant Salvatore Serago of the Elizabeth Police Department, her 2 sisters and 1 brother. Surviving are her 2 children; Victoria Wojcik and her husband Michael of South Plainfield and Frank Serago and his wife Carol also of South Plainfield, her 5 grandchildren; Michele Gonzalez and her husband Raymond, Elizabeth Zushma and her husband Kenneth, Matthew Wojcik and his wife Jennifer, Carolann and Sally Ann Serago. Also survivng are her 2 great grandchildren; Benjamin Wojcik and Dominic Gonzalez.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 23, 2009 at 10:45 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by an 11:30 AM funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC church, South Plainfield.
Interment will follow in Rosedale Cemetery, Linden.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the funeral home.
