Marlene M. Poczak South Plainfield - Marlene M. ( Mitchell ) Poczak, 76, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Monday evening March 8, 2010 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born and raised in Lost Creek II, PA., Marlene had resided in Bethlehem before settling to South Plainfield in 1962. She had been employed as a butchers assistant for many years initially working for Food Fair, then Shoprite and later Pathmark before her retirement on July 29, 1995. Marlene was a long time member of the South Plainfield Veterans of Foreign War Memorial Post #6763 Ladies Auxiliary and a communicant of Sacred Heart RC Church. She enjoyed spending her time playing Bingo and taking trips to Atlantic City as well as being an avid NY Jets Fan. She is predeceased by her husband, Rudy who died in December of 2008. Surviving are her beloved son, Allen and his wife Linda Marie Poczak. Her dear cousin, Anna Marie Andershonis and her husband, Chaz, as well as numerous, extended many members and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 12, 2010 at 9:15 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave. South Plainfield, NJ 07080, followed by a 10:00 AM funeral mass in Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield, NJ. Interment will take place privately in Brigadier General William C. Doyle's Veteran Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. Family & Friends are invited to attend the visitation hours on Thursday, March 11, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the funeral home.
