Lawrence Cannistraci
Piscataway - Lawrence Cannistraci, 92, died on Monday, June 8, 2009 in Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison.
Born in New York City, Larry had resided in the city for most of his life before settling to Piscataway 20 years ago.
He is a Veteran of WWII where he served as a Yeoman First Class aboard the USS Boise & USS Ancon before being honorably discharged in 1946.
Larry was employed as a copywriter and copyreader for Time Inc. In NYC. Working most recently with Sports Illustrated, retiring 21 years ago.
He enjoyed horse racing and time at the horse track.
Surviving are his brother, Dr. John Cannis, his nephews, Jay Cannis & Robert Lorenzo and his nieces, Fran Hess & Marie Lavell.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2009 from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield.
Cremation and interment of his cremated remains will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Haven Hospice c/o JFK Medical Center, 65 James St., Edison, NJ 08818
