Obituary of Rita Mortellito

Rita Mortellito South Plainfield, NJ - Rita (Librera) "Nana" Mortellito, 92, died on Sunday, March 15, 2009 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in Palermo, Sicily, she immigrated to the United States at the age of 8, residing in Elizabeth then Linden for several years before moving to South Plainfield. A seamstress by trade, Rita worked for Lambys Factory in Newark. She enjoyed making her own clothing and loved to cook. She is predeceased by her husband Joseph who 1963. Nana leaves behind her daughter Rosemarie Kelly of South Plainfield and her two sons; John and his wife Marianne of Pennsylvania and Ben and his wife Giovanna of California. She will be missed by her three grandchildren; Richard and his wife Sandy Kelly, Nicole and Katie Mortellito and by her three great-grandchildren. Funeral services and visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 beginning at 10:00 AM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Entombment will follow in the Rosedale Cemetery Mausoleum in Linden, NJ.
