William J. Price South Plainfield - William J. Price, 81, died on Sunday, March 2, 2008 in the Haven Hospice of JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born and raised in Cranford, Mr. Price had resided in Elizabeth and Garwood before settling to South Plainfield 51 years ago. A veteran of the Unites States Navy, he served during WWII as a seaman first class. Employed as a Heavy Duty Construction Master Mechanic for the operating engineers local #825, he had worked for many of the years with Halecrest Construction of Edison. He later worked as the van driver for the Boro of South Plainfield for 14 years until February of 2004. A long time active member of Sacred Heart RC Church, he also enjoyed his time bowling and playing horseshoes. His sisters, Mildred O'Donnell, Evelyn Hay and Annette Kaeser are all predeceased. He is survived by his wife, Margie (nee Pender), his four sons, Timothy, Michael and his wife Monica, Patrick and his wife Marilyn and William and his wife Janet. His sister, Lyda McClement and his eight grandchildren, Colin, Moira, Michael, Patrick II, Peter, Wills, Shea and Tanner. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March, 6, 2008 at 9:15 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 10:00 AM funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield, NJ. Interment will follow in St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the funeral home. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the Haven Hospice, C/O 65 James Street, Edison, NJ 08820
