Obituary of Cruz Gonzalez

Cruz Gonzalez South Plainfield - Cruz Gonzalez, 74, died on Friday, January 15, 2010 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Cruz lived in New York City, Meridian, Connecticut, and Middlesex before settling in South Plainfield in 1974. Along with his wife, Marie, Cruz owned and operated Joanne's Kitchens in South Plainfield. In addition to his beloved wife Marie, surviving are his son Richard and his wife Maureen of North Carolina, his mother Longina Gonzalez of Puerto Rico, his sister Teresita Gonzalez Nuniez also of Puerto Rico, his 3 brothers Virgilio Gonzalez of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. and Israel and Juan Gonzalez also of Puerto Rico. Also surviving is his newly born granddaughter Ellie Marie Gonzalez and his niece Linnette Gonzalez of Andover. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 18, 2010 at 10:30 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2010 from 2-5 PM in the funeral home.
