Mary Ellen Miller Piscataway - Mary Ellen Voget Miller, 49, died on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 in the Haven Hospice at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield. Born in Plainfield, Mary grew up in Scotch Plains. She graduated from Scotch Plains - Fanwood High School. While attending High School, Mary was a twirler with Marching Band. Following High School, Mrs. Miller attended Union County College where she earned an Associates Degree. Mary was employed as a secretary for Piscataway High School for the past 7 years. Mrs. Miller served as a NJEA Representative as well as participating with the Piscataway After School Care program and was a member of the Super Chiefs Band Parents Association. An avid bingo player, Mrs. Miller enjoyed vacationing in Ocean City, Maryland. She taught CCD at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church in Piscataway and was a girl Scout Leader. One of her more favorable activities was volunteering for the Rawhide Rescue and Greyhound Friends of New Jersey, and just recently Mary was a team leader for the Mommy Millers Support Staff Team in Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. A fundraiser walk in support of fighting Breast Cancer, an illness in which Mary was battling. She is pre-deceased by both of her parents; George and Dorothy Voget and by her brother George. Surviving is her loving husband of 25 years, Jim Miller and her 3 children; Allison, Kimberly, and James Miller all of Piscataway, her mother and father-in-law; David and Patricia Miller also of Piscataway, her brother and his wife Michael and Gail Voget, her sister-in-law Evelyn Voget and by her 3 brothers-in-law; David and Sally Miller of North Plainfield, Stephen and his wife Donna of Clark, and Matthew and his wife Nikki of Virginia. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2007 at 9:30am in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield followed by a 10:30 AM funeral mass at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Piscataway. Cremation is private. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 9, 2007 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, 2600 US HWY #1, North Brunswick, NJ 08902
