Florence Cervone South Plainfield - Florence (Parente) Cervone, 84, died on Saturday, May 5, 2007 at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield. Born in Newark, Mrs. Cervone resided in Newark for most of her life. She later moved to Hazlet, then South Plainfield, where she lived with her daughter and for the past year Florence resided at the JFK Hartwyck at Cedarbrook Nursing Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center in Plainfield. A homemaker for many years, she enjoyed her time crocheting and was a member of the Bayshore Senior Center in Keansburg. She is predeceased by her husband, Frank, and her two sisters and two brothers. Surviving are her two daughters, Jo Ann Della Pia & Diane and her husband Bob O'Day, her son, Frank Cervone, Jr., all of South Plainfield. Her seven grandchildren, Michelle, Michael, Catherine, Jessica, Frank, Lauren & Tara, and her great grandson Richard. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at 9:15 AM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer Foundation of America, 322 8th Ave., 6th Floor, New York, New York 10001.
