Obituary of Bessie F. Sopher

Bessie F. Sopher South Plainfield - Bessie F. (Pollock) Sopher, 87, Died on Friday, July 2, 2010 at her residence. Born and raised in Pottstown, PA, she lived in Bayonne before settling to South Plainfield in 1956. Mrs. Sopher was the owner and operator of the former Gift Garden in South Plainfield and in 1998 until closing, she volunteered at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield. She is predeceased by her husband, Douglas Francis who died in 1996, son Robert, a sister Hanna Bea and by her brother Dean Pollock. Surviving are her children; daughter Gale Pastula - Grazinno and her husband Vito of Scotch Plains, sons; Douglas Jr. and his wife Jackie of West Chester, Pa., and Daniel and his wife Beth of Perrinville. NJ, and by her brother Arthur Pollock of Freehold, eight grandchildren; Kim, Kelli, Paul, Scott, Daniel, Lexie, Bobby and Matthew and six great grandchildren; Clayton, Sidney-Lynn, Elijah, Noah, Douglas and Allie.. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080 beginning at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 5, 2010 from 3-6pm in the funeral home.
