Robert A. Stilo Bellevue, Idaho - Robert A. Stilo, 73, resident of Bellevue, Idaho and formerly of South Plainfield, died on Friday, June 13, 2008 at his ranch with his wife Marie at his side. Bob was born on July 5, 1934 in South Plainfield, NJ to Julia DeFillipo and Dominic Stilo. After graduating from St. Peter's High School in New Brunswick, NJ, Bob served in the US Army and was stationed in Japan. Upon returning home from his duty, he began working for his father in his family's paving business, Stilo Paving, and took over the business upon his father's retirement in 1964. In 1977, Bob took his first vacation to Sun Valley and fell in love with Idaho. When he retired in 1997, he and his wife Marie moved permanently to the Wood River Valley. As an accomplished horseman, one of his favorite pastimes was to help out some of the local ranchers on cattle drives. Bob also liked to hunt, ski and enjoy the great outdoors in the Rockies. Bob is survived by his devoted wife of 23 years, Marie, his Son Robert Stilo Jr. and his wife Patricia, of South Plainfield, NJ, three daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Jim Linkin of Largo, Fl., Laurie and Angelo Porchetta of Westfield, NJ, and Melissa and Jim Santora of South Plainfield, NJ; Two brothers, Leonard and his wife Virginia of Beach Haven, NJ and Donald of Seattle, WA, sister Theresa and husband Rocky Matteis of Desert Hot Springs, CA, ten grandchildren, Jonathan, Alyssa, Joseph, Anthony, Bobby, Julie, Katie, Natalie, Shannon and Brooke. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield. Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield. Arrangements are under the direction of the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospice of the Wood River Valley, P.O. Box 4320, Ketchum, ID, 83340.
