Harry S. Reid
Husband, Father, Grandfather
South Plainfield, NJ - Harry S. Reid, 91, died after a brief illness on April 18, 2008 at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield.
Born October 31, 1916 in Quebec, Canada, Harry has been a South Plainfield resident for over seventy years.
Harry served as a 2nd Lieutenant Bombardier in the United States Army Air Corps. During WWII. He had a long successful career as a Sales Executive in the plastics and optical industries.
Harry enjoyed his family and being outdoors savoring nature. He always enjoyed the beautiful sunsets from his front porch, the sound of birds singing and the wonder of the full moon. His positive attitude and love for living was an inspiration to those he touched. He was known for his sense of humor and always had a quip to offer everyone he saw and was beloved to many.
Harry was predeceased by his daughter, Heather R. Christensen.
Harry leaves behind his wife of sixty-eight years; Jean Jacobsen Reid, his son and daughter-in-law Scott and Jill Reid and son-in-law Carl Christensen.
He also leaves behind his grandson Justin Scott Reid and Desiree McKernan and her daughter Courtney Bohl.
He was a active fifty-five year member of the United Presbyterian Church of Plainfield, 525 E. Front Street, Plainfield, NJ 07060 where relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service on Saturday, April 26, 2008 beginning at 2:00pm.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the United Presbyterian Church of Plainfield.
Funeral arrangements have been handled by the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
