Frank "Duke" DeCarlo, 90 , died on Sunday November 18, 2007 at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield.
Born in Bernardsville, NJ., he has been a resident of South Plainfield for 81 years.
Duke was employed as the House Manager for the Plainfield Country Club in Plainfield for 47 years before recently retiring. He was also an avid golfer.
A veteran of the United States Army, Duke served during WW II with the 86th Division Artillery during the European and the Pacific Theaters. He had also been a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post # 6763 of South Plainfield.
He is predeceased by his brothers, Michael and John and his sisters, Antoinette Vastano, Helen DeRose and Mary DeCarlo.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Mary (Lapinsky) DeCarlo, his daughter & son-in-law, Debra & Charles Greenstein of Metuchen and his son, Anthony F. DeCarlo of South Plainfield. His sister, Ann Ludington and his brother, Joseph DeCarlo of South Plainfield. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Dana Campbell, Ashley Greenstein, Charles Greenstein, Jr., Alissa DeCarlo & Heather Kim and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 At 11:00 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield
Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
