South Plainfield - Frances K. Hackett, 59, died on Sunday, June 21, 2015 at home. Born in Warwick, NY, Fran grew up in West Milford, NJ and settled to South Plainfield in 1979. She was a graduate of Ramapo College Class of '80 and received her B.S. in Business Administration. Having a love and strong connection for the Ramapo College community, Fran gave back to her Alma Mater. She served the college in several capacities volunteering on various committees' over the course of her life including serving as the Chair to the Board of Governors, a position she held for 4 proud years. Mrs. Hackett began her career working for Prudential Insurance Company in 1974 in their claims department. Dedicated and passionate to her work, she rose through ranks retiring as a Senior Vice President and was also selected to serve as the company's Liaison to the US Department of Veterans Affairs, a position she was particularly proud of. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, son and her son's girlfriend Amanda. She was an avid reader and was also very fond of the Jersey Shore. She enjoyed spending time at her Seapointe Village beach home in Diamond Beach. She is predeceased by her father George Olden. Surviving is her husband, Dave; son, David both of South Plainfield, her mother Mary Ellen Olden and her brother David Castaldo and his wife Carolyn. Funeral Services are under the direction of the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Cremation Services were held privately. Relatives and friends will be received on Monday, June 29, 2015 beginning at 6pm in the Berrie Center at Ramapo College, 505 Ramapo Valley Rd., Mahwah, NJ 07430. A Memorial Service will begin at 7:00 pm and a repast will follow the service.
