Catherine Mackey South Plainfield - Catherine (Micko) Mackey, 93, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2012 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in Newark, N.J. she had resided in Roselle Park for 15 years and South Plainfield for 25 years, before moving to Engelwood, Fla. in 1981. In the late 1990's, Catherine returned to New Jersey, residing in Bedminster before settling with her daughter in South Plainfield. She had been employed at the former Bruno Dress Shop of South Plainfield for 10 years before retiring in 1983. Mrs. Mackey was a member of the Ladies International Garment worker's Union Local # 149 of Newark, N.J., and a former communicant of Our Lady of Czestochowa R.C. Church, South Plainfield. Predeceased by her husband, Leroy, who died in 2000, her siblings, Alice Skiba, Lillian Falkowski, Mary Albright and John Micko are also predeceased. Surviving are two daughters; Diane Janus and her husband, Ronald of South Plainfield and Kathleen Nelson and her husband, Martin of Howell, Michigan, four grandchildren; Martin Nelson, Jr., Wayne Nelson, Shawn Janus and Kimberly Damiano and six great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 9:30 AM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave. South Plainfield, NJ followed by a 10:30 AM funeral mass in Our Lady of Czestochowa R. C. Church, South Plainfield Entombment will follow in St. Gertrude's Good Shepard Mausoleum, Colonia. Family and friends may attend the visitation hours on Thursday, January 12, 2012 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. .
