Obituary of Margaret Trocodeo

Margaret Trocodeo South Plainfield - Margaret (Fotia) Trocodeo, 91, passes away peacefully at her home after a long battle with Alzheimer Disease on Wednesday morning, April 20, 2011. Born and resided in Plainfield, Margaret settled to South Plainfield where she has been a resident for 60 years. A homemaker for most of her life, Margaret had worked with her family at their store in Plainfield many years ago. She had also worked at the former Cornell Dubilier Manufacturing Company in South Plainfield and had been a candy maker for the former Helen Elliot Store on Route #22 in North Plainfield. Margaret and her late husband, John were active communicants of Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield. She was know to be an excellent cook and loved to play Bingo. Predeceased by her beloved husband, John who died in 2004. She is also predeceased by her sisters, Marie, Anna, Lena and Josephine and brothers, Rocco, Salvatore and Dominic. Surviving are her two daughters, Linda Malvone and her husband, Chris of Atlantic Highlands, NJ and Rosemarie Trocodeo of Florida, a brother, Rudolph Fotia, of South Plainfield and her long time devoted caretaker Natia. Also surviving are her two granddaughters and their husbands, Jennifer and Scott Grieves & Christine and Herbart Ruiz and two great granddaughters, Olivia Grieves and Sophia Ruiz. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 9:15 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ followed by a 10:00 AM funeral mass in Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Family and friends may attend the visitation hours on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donation in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater NJ Chapter, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834.
