Obituary of Ted W. Keller

EDISON, N.J. — Ted W. Keller, 92, died on Thursday, September 17, 2015, at his home. Born in Aristes, PA on May 31, 1923, he was the son of George W. and Nora (Longenberger) Keller. He was married in Centralia, PA on December 26, 1946 to Anna Burge, who predeceased him on December 17, 2008. He began his married life in Aristes, PA before moving to South Plainfield in 1954, and then relocating to Edison in 2005. He was a charter member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in South Plainfield where he was active in many areas including serving as a Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher and on the Church Council. He served in the US Army and was a World War II Veteran who saw combat in France until he was wounded on August 7, 1944. He worked for both Westinghouse and General Motors before retiring in the mid-1980s. He then worked at Jim' Valley Service in Basking Ridge, NJ for his son Jim until 1990. He is survived by his three sons, Donald and wife Joyce of Neptune, Robert and wife Cathie of South Plainfield, and James and wife Linda of Manahawkin; seven grandchildren, Jonathan, Kristin Heyser, Timothy, Becky, Christopher, William and Marion Keller, and six great-grandchildren, Danielle, Abby and Anna Keller, Alexander and Jillian Heyser and Grady Keller. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by two brothers, Charles and Stanley. On Sunday, October 4, 2015, a Celebration of Life will begin 1:00 pm at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church on Park Avenue in South Plainfield. Interment will be held at a later date in the family plot in Aristes, PA. At the request of the family, all additional services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Memorial Fund at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, 3145 Park Ave, South Plainfield, NJ, 07080.
