Terrence W. Rothemich Beesley's Point - Terrence W. Rothemich, 74, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 10, 201 with his beloved wife at his side. Born in Bound Brook in 1936, Mr. Rothemich grew up in North Plainfield. He attended and graduated from Delbarton High School in Mendham in 1954. and in 1958, he received his Bachelors Degree in Commerce and Finance from Villanova University. In 1961, he married Lucille Caruso and moved to their first home in South Plainfield where they raised their family of three sons. In 1989, they returned to North Plainfield to restore the Caruso residence where Lucille grew up to provide his grandchildren the ability to cherish those loving memories. Upon graduating from Villanova, Mr. Rothemich's auditing and accounting expertise began with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co., Newark, He held numerous executive positions with Carteret Savings and Loan, Glen Ridge Savings and Old Borough Savings. To conclude his career in the finance industry Mr. Rothemich retired as an Investigative Specialist with the FDIC. He served in the US National Guard in Fort Dix and was a proud member of the South Plainfield Rescue Squad for 5 years. He managed numerous Little League Baseball teams, participated as a Cub Scout Leader and was a member of the Internal Managers Society and the South Jersey Model Train Museum. In addition Terrence was an woodworking enthusiast and enjoyed many carpentry projects During the summer months, Terrence along with his family and friends, vacationed in Mantaloking where they enjoyed fishing and crabbing. Upon retirement 10 years ago, their lifelong dream became a reality, to live at the Jersey Shore. They relocated to Beesley's Point as their haven for friends and family to enjoy the benefits of the beach. An all around avid sports fan, Terrence loved the game of baseball and was an enormous Philadelphia Phillies fan. Always athletic, one of his cherished achievements was being named an All-Star baseball center fielder during his junior year of high school. At the age of five, his passion for trains began when his father presented him with his first Lionel Train set. From that point on he became a lifelong model train enthusiast and even designed and constructed an intricate model train display for his grandchildren. Along with his wife he was communicate of Church of the Resurrection in Marmora, NJ and their 50th wedding anniversary was recently joyfully celebrated in June by their children hosting a party in their honor. Along with his tireless work ethic, sense of humor and devotion to family, his greatest joy in life was the love of his wife and the successfulness of his 3 sons. Terrence is predeceased by his father William J. Rothemich and mother Grace Harrigan Rothemich. Surviving are his beloved wife of 50 years Lucille ( Caruso), 3 sons: Dr. Steven Rothemich and wife Maria, Thomas Rothemich, and Timothy Rothemich and wife Meredith, his brother Dr. Brian Rothemich and wife Sue and his sister Sheila Howe and husband James. Also surviving are his 6 grandchildren and numerous relatives. God Bless you Honey, Dad, Pop-pop and Grandpop. We all loved you so much, Funeral Services were held privately under the direction of the McCriskin - Gustasfson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Interment was held at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Special Olympics www.specialolympics.org
