Obituary of Angelo L. Vastano

Angelo L. Vastano South Plainfield - Angelo L. Vastano, 92, died Thursday December, 13, 2012 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born and raised in Plainfield, Angelo enlisted in the US Army, served his country proudly prior to being discharged in 1946. In 1952, he settled to South Plainfield with his wife and daughter. Angelo enjoyed a career and love of the railroad. He is retired from Conrail, retiring several years ago and had a passion for constructing model electric train sets. He is predeceased by his parents and four brothers. Surviving are his wife of 69 years; Mary (D'Ambrosio), a daughter; Mary Blue and her husband Terry of South Plainfield, three grandchildren; Kari, Keith and Kenneth and his wife Katherine, and two great grandchildren; Lucas and Kelli. Funerals services will be on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 10:45 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 08070 followed by a funeral mass at 11:30 AM in Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield. Entombment will follow privately. Family and friend may attend the visitation hour on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 beginning at 10:00 AM in the funeral home.
