Mary DeCarlo South Plainfield- Mary (Lapinsky) DeCarlo, 85, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 in the Haven Hospice in JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in Frackville, PA, Mary has resided in South Plainfield since 1943 where she was a homemaker caring for her family as devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a long time member of Sacred Heart Church in South Plainfield and a member of the church's choir & the altar rosary society. Mary was also a member of the South Plainfield Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post # 6763 ladies auxiliary. Her husband, Frank "Duke" DeCarlo, died in 2007, she is also predeceased by 5 siblings. Surviving are a daughter & son-in-law, Debra & Charles Greenstein of Metuchen, a son & daughter-in-law Tony and Elaine DeCarlo of Somerset, a sister and a brother; Anna Hawryliak, & Mike Lapinsky both of Florida, five grandchildren; Dana Campbell, Ashley Greenstein, Charlie Greenstein, Jr., Alissa DeCarlo and Heather Kim and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be begin at 11:30 AM on Friday, January 6, 2012 in the McCriskin -Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield, NJ. Relatives & friends may attend the visitation hours on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the funeral home and on Friday beginning at 11:00 AM until time of service.
