South Plainfield - Regina (Kopchinski) Mruz, 87, died on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the Shore Medical Center in Somers Point.
Born and raised in Bayonne, Regina settled to South Plainfield in 1951.
Regina was a graduate of Bayonne High School as well the Paine Hall School in New York City.
Prior to her marriage, she was employed as a medical secretary in New York and later work at the former Bamberger's Department Store in Plainfield, retiring in 1986.
Along with her late husband, Henry, Regina traveled extensively throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe and for many years volunteered at the former Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield as well as the George Street Playhouse in New Brunswick.
In addition to her husband, Regina is predeceased by all of her siblings.
She is survived by her daughters; Louise Mruz of Dunellen, Carol Demarest and her husband David of Galloway Twp., her sons; John and his wife Janice of Upper Twp. and Robert and his wife Patricia of Henderson, NV. Also surviving are her grandchildren; Jonathan Mruz and his wife Megan, Kari, Sara and Hannah Mruz, Andrew Demarest and his wife Ashley and Michael Demarest.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 10:45am in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., followed by an 11:30 AM funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield.
Interment will follow in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstownm NJ
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 from 5-8pm in the funeral home.
