Richard Emery Hunt
Richard Emery Hunt, 52, died suddenly on Thursday, January 12, 2012. Born in Plainfield Rick was raised in South Plainfield and moved to Green Brook, NJ in 1988.
Rick was the owner of Hunt Plumbing and Heating, a licensed master plumber working in the industry for 30 years. Rick was a nine year board member of the Green Brook Little League, he took pride in his coaching and mentoring young athletes. Rick also served as a basketball coach for the Green Brook Recreation Association.
He was also an active member of the South Plainfield Elks. Rick hobbies included his great love of fishing, spending time on the ocean with his sons and friends on his boat searching for his fish. He greatly enjoyed fishing trips with great friends to Costa Rica. Rick was an excellent golfer and skier. His greatest passion was time spent with his children, either in their pool, backyard or any adventure that he always joined them on. Rick loved the New York Giants and attending games, but his greatest time was watching his sons play football and baseball. He attended every game with great pride. Rick strived to be a loving and committed parent and excelled as a father, creating a strong love and everlasting bond with his children. Rick possessed a charismatic personality and he was befriended by many, many loving supported friends.
Rick is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Sharon Diller Hunt, his son, Matthew Emery, his daughter Morgan Joan and son, Richard Charles all of Green Brook. His parents, Emery and Florence of Manasquan, NJ, his sister, Nancy and husband Don Potts of Orlando, Florida and brother Robert and wife Sharon of South Plainfield, NJ. His father in law, Charles E. Diller, inlaws, Margaret Diller, Joseph and Christine Diller and Joseph and Laura Sulovski. He had eleven nieces and nephews, Joe, Jake and Jenna Sulovski, Melissa and Lindsay Diller, Kevin, Steven, Robbie Potts, Bryan, Chelsea,4 Tyler Hunt all of whom he loved very much. Rick was predeceased by his mother in law, Joan M. Diller.
The family has chosen to honor Rick by donating the ultimate gift, the gift of life. His donation of various organs and tissue were made possible by the NJ Sharing Network. Therefore, a memorial service, celebrating Rick's life will be held for all to attend on Monday, January 16 at 11:00 AM in the Hydewood Park Church in North Plainfield.
