Obituary of Thomas Valia

Newton - Thomas Valia, 48, died on Monday, November 17, 2014 at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown. Born in Newark, Tommy grew up in Edison and resided in the Edison and Woodbridge area prior to relocating to Newton earlier this year. While growing up in Edison, Tom served on the Edison First Aid Squad #2. A passionate motorcycle enthusiast, Tom was a member of the Sinister Steel Motorcycle Association. He enjoyed participating and supporting all of their club events as much as he possibly could. He is predeceased by his parents, Robert and Lillian Valia. Surviving are his sister Cathy Valia (Christopher Leight) of Edison; his brother Robert (Eleanor) of Port Reading; two nieces, Chelsea and Cassandra Leight and his nephew Christopher Leight and his girlfriend; Sharon Miller and her children, Sara, Keirstin, Zachary and Matthew. Visitation and Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2014 from 12pm - 4pm in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Harley Davidson attire is welcomed for those who are attending the visitation on Saturday. Tom's cremation services will take place privately.
