Minnie E. Gyurisin South Plainfield - Minnie E. Gyurisin, 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, November 8, 2012 at her daughter's home surrounded by her family. Born in Dunellen, she had resided in Perth Amboy for 20 years before settling to South Plainfield in 1957. Mrs. Gyurisin was employed as an inspector for the former Accurate Bushing Company in Garwood, retiring in 1980. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart RC Church and a life member of the Polish National Home of South Plainfield. A member of the Traveling Seniors of North Plainfield and a member of the Super Seniors Bowling at Strike and Spare in Greenbrook, she also enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and playing Dominos. In addition, she enjoyed being an active card player, playing with the same five women for the past 58 years. Most importantly, Minnie was a loving and caring person who always worried about her family and friends and was also there to assist anyone in need. She is predeceased by her parents; Anna and Michael Prohaska, husband; Michael A., in May of 1979, son; Michael R. in February 2010, two brothers; Henry and Michael Prohaska and three sisters; Emily Chabok, Susan Gochal and Anne Stepnowski. Surviving are her daughter and son in law; Beverly and William Ball, son and daughter in law; Dennis and Maureen all of South Plainfield, daughter in law; Inge Gyurisin of Jacksonville, FL., grandchildren; William and Monica Ball, Jr., Janet and John Wizda, Kelly and James Omert, Denny and Patty Gyurisin and Erin Gyurisin. And cherished great grandchildren; Christian and Brandon Wizda, Stephanie, Jennifer and Veronica Ball, Ryan and Brenna Omert and Tyler and Jayden Gyurisin. She is also survived by many, nieces, nephews and her extended family; the Levin's and the Pytlar's and her many friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November, 13, 2012 at 9:15 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 10:00 AM Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield. Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 12, 2012 from 2-4 &7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the South Plainfield Volunteer Fire Department.
