Obituary of Evangeline S. Ramos

Evangeline Alice Soberano Ramos, known by family and friends as Sunshine, passed away on December 20, 2015 at the age of 68 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Valladolid, Negros Occidental, Philippines, she moved to the United States in 1972 and was shortly followed by her husband. They settled in Jersey City, New Jersey before moving to Piscataway, New Jersey in 1984. Evangeline was a registered dietitian at the Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital in Morris Plains for 13 years, at Essex County Geriatrics Hospital in Cedar Grove for 8 years, and Pollack Hospital in Jersey City for 12 years. Evangeline was predeceased by her parents Raymundo and Mercedes Soberano and by her siblings Roberto Soberano, Rolando Soberano, and Oscar Soberano. Surviving are her loving husband of 44 years, Ramon Ramos Jr.; her daughters Deborah Ramos and Julie Ramos-Cruz and her husband, Maurice; her sons Stephen Ramos and his wife, Erlynn Mae, and Ramon Ramos III; her cherished grandchildren, Bryce, Sophia, Lucas, and Ethan; her siblings Cecilia Soberano-Gayanelo, Raymundo Soberano Jr., Mercedes Soberano, Arthur Soberano, and Esther Linda Soberano and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will all miss her dearly. Friends and family may gather at the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080 on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following day on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 10:00am at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 208 Bound Brook Ave., Piscataway, NJ 08854. Committal will be private.
