Flemington - Antoinette D. ( Radnovich ) Eckenstein, 67, passed away early, Sunday morning April 28, 2013 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington. Born and raised in Newark, she had resided in Scotch Plains and is a graduate of Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School. Antoinette settled to South Plainfield in 1976 where she resided and raised her family before recently moving to Flemington. Working as a hair dresser for many years in Scotch Plains, she enjoyed spending her free time crocheting, cooking and most importantly, being with her children and grandchildren. Antoinette was also a longtime, dedicated member of the South Plainfield B.P.O.E Elks Lodge # 2298. She initially served in the Ladies Auxiliary before the merge when in 2000 she became a full Elk member. She served as the auxiliary's past president and in 2012 was named Elk of the Year. Antoinette, along with her late husband, Bob, fully enjoyed assisting and serving with Veterans Committee, their endeavors and volunteering. She was also a member of the Somerville Rolling Thunder Chapter where she also assisted with their veteran's functions. Predeceased by her husband, Robert H. who died in December of 2010, she is survived by; two children, Robert A. "JR" and his wife Tracy and Anna Ensel and her husband Sean, a sister; Celeste Ginder and her companion, Joseph Rauh, a brother; Thomas Radnovich and his wife, Wendy and will be missed by four grandchildren; Jamie, Allison, Sean and Jake and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends may attend the visitation on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 from 5-9PM in the funeral home with the South Plainfield Elks service at 7:00PM. Funeral services will begin on Thursday May 2, 2013 at 10:00 AM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield NJ 07080, followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, South Plainfield. Cremation will follow privately.
