Obituary of Earl John Lyman

Earl John Lyman, "John", 79 of Middlesex, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2018 at RWJ University Hospital, Somerset, in Somerville. Born in Somerville to the late Earl B. and Marie Fenchock, he has been a lifelong resident of Middlesex. John went on to serve his country in the United States Airforce. He was a contractor who owned and operated Lyman Construction since 1987. Mr. Lyman was a man of many hobbies and mastered them all. He raised tropical fish, carved wooden birds, started a model airplane club, enjoyed black powder shooting, and was a produce farmer for fifteen years. Most of all, he enjoyed the quality time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. Surviving are his beloved wife of 58 years Lavanda Gorius Lyman, his loving children, Deborah Mullen and husband Henry, Mark John Lyman and wife Kelly Downs, and Pamela Canny and husband Charles, his nine cherished grandchildren, Leigh Ann, Danny, Lisa, Tom, Casey, Christopher, Kristen, Michael, and Patrick, his great-grandchildren Ashlyn, Blake, Jace, Theresa, and Anna, his dear siblings Lorainne Kelly and Richard Lyman, as well as his extended family and dear friends. Graveside services will be held 1:00PM on Friday, March 23, 2018 at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital or to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
