Obituary of Anna Tom Goode

South Plainfield - Anna Tom Goode, 88, died on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at the Community Medical Center in Toms River. Throughout her life, Anna served as a foster parent to over 125 children and was active in her community. She belonged to the VFW Woman's Auxiliary and Piscataway American Legion. Anna served as a Community Chairman with the South Plainfield Girl Scouts and over the course of several years, she constructed many floats for South Plainfield's Annual Labor Day Parade. In 1976, Anna was honored with the title of Grand Marshal in the South Plainfield Labor Day Parade. An avid bowler, Anna bowled in three leagues for many years and served as the secretary and treasurer. She was a member of Sacred Heart RC Church as well as South Plainfield and Piscataway Senior Citizens. She worked for the Piscataway school system as a bus aide. She is predeceased by her four husbands; Edward Goode, John Tom, Leo Brennan and Peter Novicki , a daughter; Patricia DiCuollo and a grandchild; Donna Novicki. Surviving are five children; Luanne McLaughlin, Peter Novicki, Mary Ann Petkus, Shiela Solowynsky, and Rachael Ferrante , sixteen grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 9:15AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080, followed by a 10 AM funeral mass in Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield. Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 24, 2014 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm in the funeral home.
