South Plainfield - Frank A. Timko, 94, died on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at The Woodlands Nursing Home in Plainfield.
Born to the late Joseph and Catherine in Perth Amboy, Frank has resided in South Plainfield since 1948.
He served in the U.S. Army Infantry where he was initially stationed in Texas before serving in England, France and Germany during WWII prior to his discharge.
Frank retired from Oak Tree Distributors of South Plainfield in 1981 after 30 years.
He was a communicant of Sacred Heart RC Church and is a life member of the American Legion Chaumont Post # 243 of South Plainfield.
Predeceased by his brothers, Stephen and John Timko and his sisters, Theresa Minucci and Veronica Finn.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 66 years, Mary DeFillipo Timko, daughter, Deborah Martin and her husband, William of Piscataway, son, Joseph Timko and his partner, Randy Neece of California and many loved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 9:15 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080. A funeral mass will be offered in Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield, NJ at 10:00 AM on Saturday celebrated by his cousin, Monsignor Richard Brietske and Reverend John Paul Alvarado.
Burial will follow mass in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield.
Family and friends may attend the visitation on Friday, August 15, 2014 from 3-7 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory maybe made to the MS Society NJ Chapter, Aspen Corporate Park 1, 1480 U.S. Highway 9 North, Suite 301, Woodbridge, NJ 07095
