South Plainfield - Virginia G. "Ginny" Romano, 70, died peacefully on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at home. Ginny was born and raised in Rahway prior to settling in South Plainfield in 1966. She has been a realtor for over 40 years, working initially for Century 21 - Brandt Realty of Clark in the Piscataway office and currently was working with Century 21 - Golden Post Realty of Middlesex for over 20 years. She was a member of the NJ Realtor's Association. Ginny enjoyed her free time golfing, gardening, and had bowled in various leagues. Most important to her was time spent with her grandchildren and family. She is predeceased by her parents; Eunice and Arthur Murphy, a sister, Theresa Binder and brother, Lawrence Murphy. Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Patrick, daughter, Theresa Cocozza, son, Patrick, sister, Kathryn Sutton and her husband, Allen, a brother, Thomas Murphy and his wife Lynn and her brother- in-law, Herbert Binder. Also surviving are 4 beloved grandchildren; Zachary, Frankie, Camryn and Lucas. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 4, at 9:15 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield NJ 07080 followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield. Cremation services will be held privately. Family and friends may attend the visitation on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2600 US Highway 1, North Brunswick, NJ 08902
