South Plainfield - Jeanette Merrick, 76, died Friday, December 15, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in the Bronx, NY she resided in Brooklyn for 12 years before settling to South Plainfield in 1974.
She was an RN as the night shift supervisor at the Veterans Home of Melo Park until she retired in 2006. She love to crochet and was an animal lover. A woman who was proud to be Irish, she was fond of Scotties and charitable towards multiple organizations.
Predeceased by her father, Frances Doherty; two sisters, Marie and Dorothy; niece, Jeannette and husband, Richard; surviving are her three children, Laura Miller and husband Stephen, Robert and wife Melanie and Richard; three cherished grandchildren, Kathleen, Christopher and Liam and mother, Dorothy Doherty. She will also be missed by her nieces and nephew, Patricia, Thomas and Dorothy; brother in laws, Harry and George and Maggie, her Scottish Terrier who never left her side.
A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 10AM in Our Lady of Czestochowa RC Church, Hamilton Blvd South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
Burial will be held privately.
Donations may be made in Jeanette's memory to your local ASPCA.
