South Plainfield - Michael Joseph Frino, 92, known to many as Mike, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018. Born in Orange to the late Gabriel and Theresa (Genevrino) Frino, Mike spent most of his life in Edison, settling to South Plainfield fourteen years ago.
In 1946, Mike was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corp. where he served his country proudly as Corporal during WWII. Thirty years ago, Mike retired from Cities Service Company where he worked as a Chemist. He was an avid NY Giants fan, was active at Ricochet Health Club and loved to spend time with his family; especially his three grandchildren.
Predeceased by his wife Mildred and two brothers; Anthony and Gerald, Mike leaves behind his loving daughters; Terry Alexa and her husband Don of South Plainfield and Tracy Marks and her husband Jim of Washington Township along with three grandchildren; Rachel and Dana Alexa and Brittany Marks.
Visitation will be held in McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 6-9 pm and on Wednesday, January 10, 2017 beginning 9:00 am.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 beginning 9:15 am in the funeral home followed by a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Sacred Heart in South Plainfield. Mausoleum entombment will take place at Cloverleaf Memorial Park in Woodbridge.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations sent to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research, Dept. 41831, P.O. Box 650309 Dallas, TX 75265 would be appreciated.
