Obituary of Daniel M. Wasnick

Daniel M. Wasnick, 73, passed away Friday, January 12, 2018 at CareOne at Somerset Valley in Bound Brook. Born in New Brunswick, Danny lived in Edison, graduating from Edison High School in 1962. Danny and his wife, April, settled to South Plainfield almost 42 years ago, where he enjoyed coaching baseball with the South Plainfield Junior Baseball Club. An honorably discharged veteran of the United States Air Force, Daniel served our country during the Vietnam War. He went on to graduate from Rutgers University then worked for Revlon in Edison for over 20 years. Prior to his retirement in 2004 from Christian Dior in Piscataway, Danny also worked for Halston Borghese in Jamesburg. Predeceased by his parents, Michael and Santina "Sally" Wasnick; surviving are his wife, April A. (Reed) Wasnick; six godchildren, most beloved Mathew Finn and wife Nicole and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends. Funeral services will begin on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 9:00AM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals , 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080, followed by a 10:00AM funeral mass at Our Lady of Czestochowa R.C. Church, South Plainfield. Interment will follow in St. James Cemetery in Woodbridge. Family and friends may attend visitation on Tuesday from 2:00-4:00PM & 7:00-9:00PM at the funeral home.
