Obituary of Leonora "Lee" Pollara

Leonora Pollara, "Lee", 91, of South Plainfield, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2016 at Ashbrook Care Center in Scotch Plains. Born in Manhattan to the late Salvatore and Vincenza Alico, she was a former resident of the Bronx, and resided most of her life in South Plainfield. Lee worked at a high end fashion store, Mademoiselle in Westfield and continued her work in the retail fashion field with Teppers Department Store of Plainfield, before devoting her life to her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Pollara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who enjoyed sewing, knitting, and had a talent for clay work. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Paul Pollara, her loving son Thomas Pollara, and her dear sisters Millie Arlin and Jayne O'Keefe. Surviving are her loving children, Lenora Gerlitz and Paul Pollara, and wife Bretta, her six cherished grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 3, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00PM at the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield. Funeral services will be held with a prayer at 10:00AM on Saturday, June 4th at the Hillside Cemetery, 1401 Woodland Avenue, Scotch Plains. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Lee's memory to AIDS United, 1424 K Street, N.W., Suite 200, Washington, DC 20005 or Alzheimer's Association 3 Eves Dr Ste 310, Marlton, NJ 08053
