Obituary of Paul M. Sikanowicz

Paul M. Sikanowicz, 75, of Bridgewater, NJ, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2016 at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center in Somerville. Paul was born in Plainfield, NJ to the late Michael and Catherine Sikanowicz. He was raised in South Plainfield, and a graduate of S.P.H.S and was a proud member of the 1959 State Championship basketball team. He spent most of his life as a resident of Bridgewater since 1975. Paul was an Electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #262 for over forty years. He enjoyed using his trade to do electrical work and carpentry.."projects".. for his family and friends. Paul had a deep knowledge of current events, history and sports. He was an avid reader and viewer of all kinds of educational periodicals and television. Most of all, Paul enjoyed the quality time spent with his beloved children, grandchildren, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his dear brother, Eugene "Gooch" Sikanowicz in 2014. Surviving are his loving children, David Sikanowicz and wife Glenna, Amy Sikanowicz, Beth Ann Degitz and husband David, his cherished grandchildren Lake and Ryder Degitz, his dear siblings Estelle Switzer, and Leon Sikanowicz and wife Fran, as well as his extended family and friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 18th 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00PM at the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM on Wednesday, October 19th at The Church of the Sacred Heart, 149 S. Plainfield Ave, South Plainfield. Interment will follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield.
